School Annual Day

Annual Day – 2022-2023

Our school celeberated its 27th Annual day with loads of enthusiasm on the 20th of August 2022 in the school premises. Particularly after a hiatus of 2 years, the energy and fervour of students, parent, teachers and all our staff was of a great order. Shri. V. Kamakoti, Director IIT Madras, was the Chief Guest of the function. Chairman of Vidya Bharathi Trust, Former CFO and Executive Director, TCS, Sri S. Mahalingam, presided over the function.



Programme initiation...

The programme started with a prayer followed by the Tiny Tots performing a skit “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”. It was followed by an orchestra carnatic music.

Following the orchestra, the Business Meet started with the lighting of Kuthuvilakku. The tiny tots honoured the Guests with bouquets.

Welcome address...

Our Director and Correspondent Mrs. K. Alamelu, welcomed the Chief Guest and the gathering. She congratulated Prof. V. Kamakoti for his achievements and appreciated IIT Madras, for launching the new course “BSC in programming and Data Science”. She thanked our Chairman, Mr. S. Mahalingam for all his support from TCS, for the development of the school.

While speaking about the new initiatives taken by the school, the Director Mrs. K. Alamelu, spoke about the customized programme on “Business and Management” for Class XI & XII and “Learning confirmation” workshop for the teachers.

The Annual Report...

The Welcome address was followed by Principal’s Report by Mrs. S. Sripriya. She spoke about the Meritorious Achievements of the students for the Academic year 2022-23 and about the celebrations, Seminars, Workshops, National Days and Awareness programmes conducted by the school throughout the year.

Presidential Address...

Sri S. Mahalingam, the Chairman, during his Presidential address, congratulated the school for its 27 years of achievements. He praised the vision of its Founder Sri P.S.Ganapathy and the able leadership of Mrs. K. Alamelu and her dedication in shaping and building the school all these years. Then he appreciated the Chief Guest Prof. Kamakoti for being a role model to the students.

Keynote Address...

The Chief Guest Prof. Kamakoti, in his keynote address appreciated the school for its “all round” development. He took pride to have been an obedient student of   Mrs.K. Alamelu in his school days. He advised the students to go for taking Biology and other subjects than Computer Science. He elaborated, what would be in store for the students in the next ten years.

“There are lots of opportunities for Civil Engineering, Naval Engineering and Ocean Engineering”,

said Prof. Kamakoti.

He spoke about "Out of the Box Thinking", the new programme introduced by IIT Madras, and suggested the parents as well to benefit from the course. Prof. Kamakoti then told about the historical order given by the “University Grants Commission” that one can pursue morethan one degree at a time. Then he spoke about “Sustainability” and the idea of IIT, Madras to start a course on “Sustainability”. He encouraged the parents to let their children pursue their choice of academics for their future and advised the children to keep an arm’s length from social media.

The Felicitations...

The Chief Guest Mr. Kamakoti distributed the prizes to the winners who distinguished themselves in academics in the year 2021-22. Our chairman, Sri S. Mahalingam felicitated the teachers with Certificate of Merit in recognition of their good work and honoured our staff with “Long Service Award”.

The Cultural Programme...

The Business Meet was followed by Cultural Programme by our students. Our Senior girls performed a classical dance for the song “Aadathu Asangadhu Vaa Kanna”.



The Senior boys of our school enacted a humorous play “Remember Caesar” which is a parady on “Julius Caesar”. The Programmed concluded with “Sundara Kandam” a play in Tamil, which follows the version of Arunchala Kavirayar’s “RamaNatakam” The Programme ended with National Anthem.
